Case Study: Mobility Application with Legacy System
The manufacturing industry client relies on a legacy system that they don’t plan to migrate—but they needed an application for use on the move and on the production floor. By applying BizProIT Americas best practice process, we developed a mobile project based on the Android framework using a Bluetooth small scanner. Compatibility with any Android phone makes the application flexible and scalable. This application is compatible with any Android phone making very flexible and scalable. A MySQL server data collection backbone bridges the legacy software and the new application.
The project results were so successful that the client requested a second phase to add more functionality. We incorporated additional production processes into the application, and added a web-based reporting suite for senior management.
Case Study: SalesForce Customization
The healthcare industry client selected and installed the SalesForce CRM platform to manage their full business cycle. BizProIT Americas customized the system to integrate the client’s internal and external processes with the software. We collected external data from clients and business partners, selected more than a dozen SalesForce application vendors, negotiated and managed the contracts, and implemented the applications. The project included development of in-house custom software to aid data integration among the various data sources. This project conformed with provisions of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) to provide data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical information.
Case Study: Custom Document Management System
The manufacturing industry client’s production operation produces over 20,000 documents per year, all of which must be retained, retrieved, and managed. Physically maintaining this large amount of documents was an inefficient and time consuming operation. BizProIT Americas provided the design and full development for a document management system. The project request called for a custom development utilizing current hardware resources owned by the client. We developed an application with two modules: the first indexes bulk scanned documents into a database; the second is a web-based retrieval module with a full search engine.
Since implementation, we have added functionality to the system along with changes to the client’s business processes to continue improving the application and processes. The project is saving the client more than 45,000 person hours per year.
